The fine artists and performers, Coco Petitpierre and Yvan Cledat (1966) reside and work in Drancy (France). Their artistic projects combine elements of sculpture and performance, assuming singular forms that always oscillate between two moments in time: the permanent moment, primarily associated with the exhibition and the performance event, in which the bodies of the two artists sometimes represent the "sculptural figure" and the chosen field.

Their works are inspired by the coexistence of sculptural objects and disguised bodies. This involvement underpins the singularity of their artistic work, that falls within the field of sculpture, whether in the context of an exhibition, a temporary performance or the specific duration of a theatre show. Projected in the form of a carnival parade, La Parade Moderne is a sculptural and ambulatory work, consisting of 10 figures, freely inspired by paintings by great artists from the first half of the twentieth century: Magritte, Ernst, De Chirico, Leger, Munch, Arp, Brauner and Malévitch. In La Parade Moderne the figures become three-dimensional, transfigured into sculptures and transported in a parade that resembles a strange open-air form of the history of art.

Sursauts (Somersaults) is a celebratory work in terms of its form, because it invites a group of dancers to unite - in a common impulse to jump in the air. The work was created to mark the events held in the summer of 2003, in France, which altered and valued the contemporary performing arts.

Sursauts proposes that the dancers remain together to support each other in this playful and rhythmic effort.

The dancers initially occupy the stage and then leave it, thereby establishing a new ceremony of absolute commemoration.

Mathilde Monnier is a leading figure in the French and international contemporary dance scene. Her appointment as director the Montepellier Landguedoc-Roussilon Choreography Centre in 1994 marked the beginning of a series of collaborations with artists from various fields - Jean-Luc Nancy, Katerine, Christine Angot, La Ribot, Heiner Goebbels. Monnier has created more than 40 choreographic works, presented in various important events, such as the Avignon Festival, the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris and also New York, Vienna, Berlin and London. She has received several awards, such as the Prize of the Ministry of Culture, of France, and the SACD Grand Prix. In 2013 she was appointed a member of the general board of the National Dance Centre (CND) in Pantin, France.

i-Fang Lin was born in Taiwan and has lived in France since 1989. She has danced with Mathilde Monnier, Christian Rizzo, François Verret, Emmanuelle Huynh, Didier Theron, Patarozzi Jacques, Pierre Droulers, Dominique Figarella, Philippe Katerine, eRikm, Rhino-cerose, Louis Sclavis, Fabrice Ramalingom, Anne Collod, Didier Theron and Kosei Yamamoto. Practitioner of the Feldenkrais method, i-Fang Lin gives workshops in France and abroad, in spaces such as the CCN Montpellier, Royaumont Foundation, PREAC improvisation / choreographic workshop, integrating this practice in dance. Since 2010 she has collaborated in the productions of the artists Nicole Rechain, François & the Atlas Mountain, Didier Galas, André Dussolier and Maguelone Vidal. In these contexts, I-Fang Lin proposes to work on physicality, based on observation and consciousness through movement.

Jorge Coelho is a guitarist from Porto who since 1989 has worked consistently as a musician and composer. He has released more than two dozen works, in his own name and with various musical groups (such as Cosmic City Blues, Zen, Torto, Estilhaços ou OtrotortO). He has composed original music for various short and feature films and plays.

De Paso is a circular show - like the world and like cycles! We are born, we find a world to discover, a world to run and spin. Time and the years fly by, and suddenly, there’s no more time to play anymore. And the wind, the wind from on high, tickles and pushes, pushes us forwards and backwards, and with luck maybe will make you dance and feel butterflies in your stomach ... And the world keeps spinning, even if we sometimes try to stop it. A "Clownish" show about the cycle of life!

During Serralves em Festa visitors will have the last chance to see the exhibition, "Contemporary Projects:Dayana Lucas – Manual Spirit”, that will close on 3 June.

In the Contemporary Gallery of the Serralves Museum, Dayana Lucas decided to work with the space, expanding and materializing several lines from her drawings in order to stage a conversation with the blank space of the room. The composition of this drawing, which visitors can enter, is dramatically altered by their movements within the space. The lines are suspended from the ceiling, and as we move about they seem to come to life, meet and diverge, in an authentic choreography.

This premeditated relationship between the spectators’ bodies and the ‘drawing in space’ is underlined by the invitation to experience her works while listening to a piece of music, in which a substantial part of the sound is obtained via the (circular, repetitive) movement of a finger around the rim of a glass.

This exhibition is organized by Serralves Contemporary Art Museum and curated by Ricardo Nicolau, deputy to the director of the museum.
